Bread Storage and Reheating Instructions
Storage Methods
For optimal freshness, store your bread in a breadbox. Alternative storage options include wrapping in muslin cloth, placing in a paper bag with a loosely draped (not sealed) plastic bag cover, all at room temperature. Sealing completely should be avoided as trapped moisture will make the crust soft. Fresh bread maintains quality for up to two days when stored properly at room temperature. Beyond this period, warming in an oven or toaster will restore its appeal.
Reheating from Room Temperature
For a room temperature loaf: Position uncovered in a preheated 300°F oven for 10-15 minutes, with timing adjusted based on loaf size. Larger loaves may require aluminum foil coverage to protect the crust from over-browning.
Reheating from Frozen
For frozen storage: Wrap loaves in aluminum foil prior to freezing. When ready to serve, allow the wrapped loaf to reach room temperature (approximately 1-2 hours), then place in a 300°F oven while still wrapped in foil. Heating duration varies by loaf size. Remove the foil covering during the final 10 minutes to achieve a crispy crust.
Pro Tip
Slicing bread before freezing provides convenient access to individual toasted portions whenever desired!
