Approximately 2–3 apples per pound
Golden Supreme is an early-season apple discovered as a chance seedling in West Virginia in 1890 — pale golden-yellow skin with an occasional pink blush, firm, cream-colored flesh that's crisp and juicy with a clean, mild sweetness and very low acidity. It's an approachable, crowd-pleasing apple without the complexity of a more tannic heirloom, which makes it as good for kids as it is sliced into a salad where its flesh resists browning longer than most. Also excellent for baking, where the mild flavor lets butter and spice do the work.
