Bronx grapes are among the rarest table grapes in the country — a cross between Thompson Seedless and Concord developed in the 1920s at the New York Botanical Garden, now grown by only a handful of farmers in the US. The fruit is small and round with thin, nearly translucent skin that blushes pink-red at peak ripeness, and the flavor is extraordinary: intensely sweet and honeyed with the floral, musky perfume of a Concord grape and none of its bitterness. Generally seedless, with the occasional small, tender seed that's barely noticeable. They're on Slow Food USA's Ark of Taste — a variety in genuine danger of disappearing — and their season is measured in weeks.
